It’s the Ornament of Champions! Well, at least it is, for the Blue Hen Nation. Officially licensed, hand-painted, and measuring 4" x 3", we’re thinkin’ this would not only look hen-tastic on your tree this holiday season, but year-round in a window. Available through Fanatics.com!
Wait, hold on! There’s also this guy! I’m not positive about this, but think Santa usually wears red and black. But for some reason he’s wearing blue and gold here. Was it laundry day? Oh, wait, I get it, it’s like a UD Santa! And he’s waving, “Throw me a beer!” Help Santa out on Fanatics.com!
Hey, you knew an ugly holiday sweater was gonna make this list, but the curveball here is that it’s a Hanukkah sweater! (The blue and gold color scheme was the compelling factor to include it.) Featuring a photorealistic design that will make ya’ look twice, it be on Amazon.
Okay, let’s get a tad more classy here. For my fellow Jew Hens (yes, I have license to write that), here is an intricate ornament with delicate blue and gold detailing. Yes, it’s glass, so recommend not actually spinning it, unless you wanna test out your new Dustbuster. Amazon!
Go ahead, reach into Santa’s pants, cuz it’s wine time! And actually, this thing ain’t just for wine, because Kris Kringle's knickers magically fit a variety of holiday drinks, candy, or other gifts perfectly…but what probably makes most sense is to fill his pants with nuts. Sorry. This is on HomeWetBar.com!
And to compliment the above, it’s time for an alcohol holdin’ mash-up. Yes, these are (ceramic) solo cups on wine glass stems. Fill ‘em with wine, fill ‘em with beer, fill ‘em with eggnog, fill ‘em with Manischewitz. And then toss some ping pong balls in them, ya' know? HomeWetBar.com!
Brrrrrrrr! It be cold outside! Say goodbye to frozen fingers with The Beer Mitt. Made for guys who like to enjoy yummylicious beer all year long, this insulated beer mitt protects your hand and fingers from icy cold temperatures, and keeps your can cold with a built in beer koozie. Get it on on HomeWetBar.com!
Yeah, SO many Blue Hens are from New Jersey, and didn’t pump their own gas. Then they got to UD, “Uh, how like, does this thing work?” But you became an old pro soon enough, and you’ll put those skills to work with this f’awesome Gas Pump Liquor Dispenser! Get pumped with HomeWetBar.com!
Yes, just when you thought Kwanzaa was gonna be accidentally omitted from this list, here you go. I’m good like that. When clicking around Amazon for what to include, this is definitely the one that induced, “Are you Kwanzaa kidding me?” And then a, “Where’s Kwanzaa Ken?” But this doll did get some great reviews, and I totally understand the collector mentality, and tying into a holiday. It’s on Amazon!
Yo, when I lived in Dickinson like one hundred years ago, I remember some girls lounging around the dorm, wearing just cute t-shirts, shorts, and booties. It was like, super hot. I’m just sayin’. Okay, excuse me for a moment. Thanks. But you can go ahead and buy these things on Fanatics.com.
Founder Bill Stevenson’s personal account of opening the Stone Balloon -- and the wild times of its early years -- is required reading for any Blue Hen who ever stepped in there! Limited quantities of the book remain in print, so highly recommend if you’re interested in a copy, order it posthaste through Amazon or find it in a local DE bookstore!
The only live set commercially released that was recorded at the legendary Stone Balloon, Love Seed’s classic includes, “She Likes the Dead,” “Take Me Home Country Roads,” and “In Your Eyes.” Raise a mug and raise the volume for the Balloon memories. Available on Amazon and iTunes.
The print edition of the site you're on right now is still available...only three billion copies left in the warehouse! (Actually, the book is print-on-demand, so none actually exist until you order a copy.) Anyway, Glory Days runs a hefty 463 pages, so it'd be quite the stocking stuffer!
